Each year Gibraltar celebrates a food festival called Calentita. There are different marquees set up, each trading different world cuisines as well as cakes and many other types of desserts.
My favourite pick this year would have to be the Hungarian Chimney Cake, because not only was it strangely barbecued on a skewer, but it was tasty too!
Each year I take part in the craft section of the festival, which sells abundant home made crafts. It is very successful and busy.
Here is my table with some of my hand made crochet items. Barefoot sandals, ladybugs, owls, cupcake keyrings, teddy and bunny soft toys, fridge magnets, kittens, girl’s purses are just a few of the items I made for the event.
Having seen some really gorgeous crafts being created in every area imaginable recently, I thought I would attempt my own designer butterfly.
I usually crochet all the crafts I make, so this time I thought I would come up with a craft design that is a little bit different to my norm, using materials I already had and some I haven’t used in a while.
It turned out to be a really fun project, which I enjoyed spending time on. The applique butterflies turned out pretty unique, I added individual detail and created a butterfly that is versatile and can be used for many projects, magnets, key chains, applique, flower decorations, and pillow or clothing adornments, as just a few examples.
The butterflies can be made in less than thirty minutes and are pretty easy to craft with very few materials required. If you would like to have a go at making these sweet butterflies head over to my Etsy store and grab the pattern as a quick PDF digital download. Enjoy!
As I mentioned in my store, I would love to see your creations, so don’t be afraid to post your links here on my page with your own designs.
