Free Pattern Rolo the Baby Bird

I have to admit that I don’t really see too many tiny bird amigurumi patterns these days whilst the craze for afghans and cowls continues, so here is a sweet little guy who just happened to turn up in-between my usual projects. He’s only a couple of iches tall, so if you don’t really get along with using a small hook just use a hook that feels comfortable for you. Life’s too short right?

Enjoy making sweet Rolo, or even a flock of Rolos? Just don’t forget to come back to show off your own little bird creations!

A black fine liner pen.

WINGS (make 2)

Using same hook and brown yarn:

Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc  (10 sc)

Rnd 3: ( 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc) (15 sc)

Fold piece in half and sc along the edge to join together.

FEET (make 2)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR

Attach yarn to a stitch on the birds face. Ch 3 then slip stitch to a stitch beside. FO and weave in ends.

Sew both wings and feet to the body. Add ear tufts by pulling red yarn through top of head and cutting a short stem. Do this twice for each ear.

Add face by sewing two small stitches of white yarn above the beak and make two dots in the centre with a black fine liner. You can also add some eyebrows or leave them out as desired,

End of Pattern.
